How I Cleared My Sensitive, Acne Prone Skin Using Just 3 Products

My previous skincare motto was to just slap as many products as I could on my face and pray that something has to work. It's taken me about 4 years to finally learn that my skin is sensitive and that means it needs to be treated with a little tender love and care, so no 90p face wipes, harsh fragrances or nappy creams and definitely no clean and clear because that is just the absolute devil.

I have also learnt that skin purging is not a thing for me and if my skin breaks out into a thousand million spots it just wants me to stop.

It's taken a lot of trial and error to finally get a routine together that works for me, I've been through more products and more money that I care to ever think about again. The Liz Earle cleanse and Polish broke me out, the Emma Hardie cleansing balm gave me a nasty irritated rash, literally anything that everyone else loves, my skin hates. I had to accept firstly that as much as I wanted to I just couldn't hack anything fancy so I stripped it right back to basics.

P.S - I dont love having my naked face on here but I know how frustrating it can be when people don't show the visible effects of their skincare routine, as you see my skin isn't perfect (I currently have a hormonal jawline breakout) but overall I'm pretty happs with it and I really hope this can help some of you.

Cleanse
Lush Ultrabland Cleanser - It's such a simple no fuss product, it doesn't exactly look very insta goals on the bathroom shelf but it has completely changed my skin for the better. I now feel more like my 20 year old self as a pose to my 14 year old self who was just coming to terms with hormonal breakouts and oily T zones. I know my friend used this and broke out really badly so I can't say it works for everyone but for me it's the only thing that calmed down my skin when it was irritated and broken out. This is the first product I introduced into my routine and I used it completely alone morning and evening to get it back to a normal state.

Tone
I've been using this for around 4 weeks now and I am completely in love with it, I had my eye on it for a good few months but seeing as my skin is so sensitive I was kinda convinced it wouldn't help me but the skincare obsessive inside of me made me buy it. Sorry not sorry. This stuff is the absolute bomb, I can now confidently say that this is the single best thing that has made my skin look healthier, it hasn't helped with my breakouts but it has made my skin look glowier and more radiant than it ever has. Buy this now, pleaseeeee!

Moisturise
I'm a huge fan of The Body Shop moisturisers in general, I was using the drops of youth cream but seeing as it's around £22 when I came to needing to repurchase I just couldn't really justify spending that much on a moisturiser.  Instead I picked up the Vitamin E moisture cream for about £12 which is much more affordable and didn't make me wince when handing over my bank card. The smell of this is beaut, to be honest I don't really know what I look for in a moisturiser but I'm not hugely fussy, as long my skin isn't dry I'm guessing its doing it's job. So yeah, it's pretty basic but I like basic.

So yeah that's it, simple, cheap and easy.
Tell me your skincare faves.
